MONTEGO BAY — Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) with responsibility for Local Government, Hon. Shahine Robinson, has lauded Matron of the Trelawny Infirmary, Icy Allen, and her staff for the quality of service and care being given to the residents.
After a tour of the facility in Falmouth on Wednesday (October 5), Mrs. Robinson said she was satisfied with the conditions, inclusive of the male and female wards, the laundry, main hall and the new wing, the Icy Allen Hall, constructed recently from funds sourced by the Matron.
“Matron Icy Allen and her staff must be commended for the excellent condition in which the Infirmary is kept, and also for the high spirits of the residents of the Infirmary,” she said.
Mrs. Robinson and her team were later taken on a tour of the Historic Falmouth Pier, by Mayor of Falmouth and Chairman of the Trelawny Parish Council, Councillor Colin Gager, and other representatives of the Council.
“It’s a beautiful pier, and we trust that the people of Trelawny and Falmouth will really buy into this wonderful concept, and help to maintain it in the condition that it is in,” Mrs. Robinson told JIS News after the tour.
