The Full Story

KINGSTON — Cabinet has approved a $137,348,523 contract with ACID Security Services Limited to provide security services at all Transport Authority locations.

Speaking on August 10 post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House, Minister with responsibility for Information, Telecommunications and Special Projects, Hon. Daryl Vaz, said the contract is for a period of three years.

“The contract was awarded following the conclusion of a tender process to replace the previous service providers, Milex Range and Alpha Security Services, whose contracts terminated on May 31, 2009,” he informed.

The Transport Authority is the agency charged with the responsibility for the licensing of all public and commercial vehicles and the regulating and monitoring of public transportation in Jamaica.
