The Full Story

A sum of $85 million has been earmarked for the Rural Water Supply Improvement Project during fiscal year 2024/25.

The engagement is intended to provide potable water in non-utility service areas across six parishes.

The project, which will be implemented by Rural Water Supply Limited (RWSL), is set to commence in April 2024.

Among the anticipated outcomes for 2024/25 are establishment of the Project Management Unit (PMU) and procuring office equipment, and procuring motor vehicles and the services of works contractors for all the schemes.

The Government of Jamaica and Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) are co-funding the project, which is slated to end in March 2029.

Just over $713 million has been estimated to undertake activities in fiscal year 2025/26.
