The Full Story

The Runaway Bay Water Company Limited is continuing work this year to provide its customers with a reliable supply of potable water, consistent with established quality standards.

The entity, in collaboration with the Urban Development Corporation (UDC), will also pursue opportunities to expand its customer base, enhance its brand and increase revenue.

Details of these and other programmed engagements are contained in the Jamaica Public Bodies Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the fiscal year, ending March 2025.

Runaway Bay Water Company will also be looking to meet or exceed financial, production, sales and quality targets through prudent management of resources at its disposal.

Additionally, the entity plans to continuously improve its maintenance programme to ensure that all assets and facilities are properly maintained and secured.

Runaway Bay Water Company extracts, treats and sells an average of 6,000 cubic metres of potable water daily through its Mount Edgecombe and Cardiff Hall plants.

The entity wholesales 80 per cent of potable water produced to the National Water Commission (NWC) for redistribution to customers.

The remaining 20 per cent is distributed directly to 400 domestic and 50 commercial customers in the surrounding area in St. Ann.

Additionally, the company processes and distributes about 1,300 cubic metres per day to approximately 700 residential customers in Caymanas.
