The Ministry of Energy and Mining is collaborating with international development partners to implement a project to achieve significant reduction in public sector energy bill.
Portfolio Minister, Hon. James Robertson, says that the three-year project, which will cost US$50 million, will focus on energy conservation and efficiency in government agencies. He was speaking at the handing over ceremony of an outdoor lighting system to the Bellevue Hospital, at the institution in Kingston on Wednesday (January 12).
“The project will pay for itself in less than three years. This project will be triggering approximately $90 million worth of investment in new technologies, new light fixtures, new control systems,” he said.
