Cabinet has approved two contracts for road works in St.Thomas.
A contract for infrastructure work for a housing development by the National Housing Trust (NHT) for sugar workers at Stokes Hall in St Thomas has been awarded to General Paving Company. The contract is valued at J$60,217,169. The work includes the installation of 7,596 metres of potable water mains, construction of 27,866 sq metres of paved roads with kerbs and channels and the construction of 1,316 sq metres of storm water drains.
At Mango Row, between Bethel Gap and Cedar Valley Contraxx Enterprises Limited has been awarded a contract to construct 3.2 kilometres of roadway, 2.3 kilometres of V drains, 400 metres of U drains and 800 cubic metres of rubble stone wall. The value of the contract is J$30,417,500. This work will restore infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Dean.
