RGD Launches Mobile Bus Service Tomorrow

The Registrar General’s Department (RGD) will be launching its mobile bus service on Thursday, January 22, as part of efforts to ensure that Jamaicans across the length and breadth of the island, can access its various services.
The launch will take place in St. Thomas, at the Wesleyan Holiness Church located on Chapel Hill. Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for Eastern St. Thomas, Hon. Dr. Fenton Ferguson, will deliver the keynote address at the event, which is scheduled to get underway at 11: 00 am.

Record updating services such as Addition of Father’s Particulars, Correction of Error and Late Entry of Name will also be offered.
Chief Executive Officer of the RGD, Deirdre English Gosse, indicated that the unit will assist Jamaicans from across the island to access a variety of services.
“The launch of the RGD’s Mobile Unit, which is a collaborative effort between RGD and UNICEF, is very timely. It will assist in the agency’s drive to promote the right of every child to be registered at birth, receive a name and legal existence,” she said.
