Staff and students at the Logwood Early Childhood institution in Hanover are still on a high after achieving Full Early Childhood Commission Sanitation Compliance from the Ministry of Education. The school achieved the milestone with the help and support of the Sandals Foundation. The Foundation, through their Team Member Project, provided the school with funding valued at two thousand five hundred US dollars, for five additional bathroom facilities, four for students and one for staff members.

A new fire station is coming to St. James. Ground was broken on Thursday June 6 for the 534.9 million dollar facility, which will be located on Barnett Street in Montego Bay. The project, slated to be completed over 12 months, is being undertaken by the Jamaica Social Investment Fund JSIF under its Disaster Vulnerability Reduction Programme DVRP.

Twenty communities across the island have been selected to participate in the pretest of the Census 2021 questionnaire exercise, to be administered by the Statistical Institute of Jamaica STATIN. The communities are Denham Town in Kingston and Half-Way Tree, Norbrook and Bull Bay in St. Andrew.
