In 2019, The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) committed 5 million US dollars to assist the Government of Jamaica to fund its Disaster Risk Finance Initiative (DRFI). This partnership to build disaster resilience, involving Jamaica and its largest trading partner spans many years, taking multiple forms- the latest being the supply of vehicles to boost the country’s disaster relief capacity.
