Ask a random person anywhere in the world about Jamaica and they may give the following answers: The home of Bob Marley, reggae music and Usain Bolt. They may add that it’s either on their list of countries to visit, they’ve already been here a few times, got married here or honeymooned on our island.
Given the above, we can conclude that Jamaica is among the most popular Caribbean destinations. In, 2019 over four million persons visited the island. Each year, a target is set for the number of visitors to the island, with the Ministry of Tourism and its stakeholders ramping up marketing efforts to ensure the target is met or better yet, surpassed.
But an increase in visitors would not make sense without an increase in hotel accommodations.
