The United Nations (UN) defines chess as a two-player strategy board game where the aim is to move different types of playing piece, each with a prescribed set of possible moves, around a checkered square board. Roughly 70% of the adult population worldwide, primarily in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, and India has played chess at some point in their lives, with some 605 million adults playing the game regularly.
