Senior citizens who need medicine, food and other essentials are being advised to make contact with their local authorities. This after Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced last week that all persons aged 75 and over have been advised to remain at home, while public sector employees aged 65 and older have been advised to work from home. Minister of Local Government and Community Development, Desmond McKenzie, says provisions have been made through municipal corporations to assist older persons in need, even if they are not registered with the Poor Relief Department.
