The Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries is reporting that Dencon Food Limited in Clarendon has agreed to purchase up to 400,000 pounds of Irish potatoes from the government. State Minister Floyd Green says the move will help local farmers redistribute the excess food available due to the loss of primary markets as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Minister Green commended the private sector company for their assistance, while urging other entities to do the same.
