Studio 58A Discusses the importance of our Zoos

Feature | April 22, 2020
Many Jamaicans oppose the idea of zoo, thinking it’s cruel to keep animals locked up outside of their natural habitats. Others are worried that the animals could escape and harm people. On the flipside however, there are others who argue that zoos serve an invaluable purpose for animal conservation. On this edition of Studio 58A General Curator of Hope Zoo Joey Brown, Senior Reptile Keeper at the Zoo Jodian Brisset, and Environmental Officer at the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) Treya Picking, discuss the benefits of zoos.
