Students on Internet Safety

Cybersecurity refers to the precautions taken to prevent unauthorized access to or attacks on a computer or computer system. Cyberattackers typically try to access, alter, or delete sensitive data, disrupt regular business, or take money from customers using ransomware – a type of malicious software designed to block access to a computer system until a sum of money is paid. With Jamaican youngsters relying on computer devices and the internet more than ever as they pursue their education and go about their daily lives, knowledge of basic cybersecurity techniques is a must. But how much do our youngsters really know about protecting themselves online? JIS radio caught up with some students of Tarrant High school in St. Andrew and asked them that question. Stay tuned to hear what they had to say.
