The Government has big plans for the eastern capital of Morant Bay. Ground was broken for the establishment of a new state-of the art urban centre, the first of its kind to be built in Jamaica in about four decades. Residents came out in droves to the ground-breaking to see what would finally come of the forgotten parish of St Thomas and its old Goodyear factory, once the pride of the parish.
