The upgraded Kingston Air Traffic Control Centre at the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority headquarters in St. Andrew has been officially reopened. The multimillion dollar upgrading project, included the installation of a new voice communication control system, system-wide air traffic management automation surveillance system, and a new global positioning system, GPS. Prime Minister Andrew Holness said the upgrading of the Air Traffic Control Centre will strengthen the island’s air transport sector.
