Rural Development Programme Update
Some 44 percent of Jamaica’s population live in the rural parts of the country. Infrastructure in some of these rural communities are non-existent or underdeveloped. To address the needs and improve living conditions in these areas, the Ministry developed an initiative, geared towards transforming selected communities over a 2-year period.

Jamaica has now begun an official period of mourning for the late Queen. The Period which began on September 8, will run until September 19 and include a Day of Mourning, to be observed on September 18.
