Effective April 1, 2020, interest rates on all new National Housing Trust (NHT) loans will be reduced by 1 percent. The NHT will also reduce all existing loans by 0.5 percent. Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the 1 percent reduction for new loans will affect over 8000 persons who access NHT loans annually. The 0.5 reduction in current loans will affect over 100,000 mortgagers.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced a 50 million dollar allocation to truck water across the island as part of COVID-19 mitigation measures. The funds are being drawn from the Trucking of Water Programme administered by the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation. Mr. Holness made the announcement during his contribution to the 2020/2021 Budget Debate on Thursday.
