She is a multi-talented marvel, a published poet, singer and entrepreneur. Lilieth Hyacinth Nelson was born in Kingston. She received her primary education at Calabar Infant and Elementary, Cedar Valley Elementary, or as she calls it, finishing school. She then moved on to St. Hugh’s High School, then the University of the West Indies.

Born in Kingston in 1951 and later raised in the cooler winds of Mandeville, Dr. Derrick Vincent Mckoy will be celebrating his birthday this month as well as membership in the order of Distinction in the rank of Commander. Dr. Mckoy says he is proud of being a teacher and feels humbled and pleased to receive the honour from his country. Dr. Mckoy will be honoured for outstanding contribution to the Legal Profession and Public Service in Jamaica.
