Child’s Month is a special time set aside each year to recognize, celebrate, and advocate for the rights of children. It is a month that reminds us all whether, parents, educators, policymakers, and or community members, that the well-being of our children is a direct reflection of the society we are building. The National Child Month Committee (NCMC) recently launched local child’s month celebrations and is urging Jamaicans to use this year’s observation to recommit to safeguarding the rights of the nation’s children by embracing the theme “‘Act Now! Stand Against Child Abuse and Exploitation’”.
