For the past few years Jamaica has been steadily seeing improvements in its economic performance.
Most recently the country attained a pre-crisis level Gross Domestic Product, GDP of 2.9 percent, recorded the lowest ever unemployment rate of 4.5 percent, and a marked fall in the poverty rate to 12.6 percent.
In light of these achievements, leading thinkers in the Labour Sector believe that labour productivity is the anchor that will stabilize and maintain this growth.
