The Jamaica Diaspora Agriculture Taskforce (JDAT) is on a mission to ensure that the foods grown for consumption in Jamaica are of the highest quality. Thus, they’re encouraging more local farmers to adopt organic farming practices. Organic farming is a method of crop and livestock production that avoids the use of pesticides, fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, antibiotics and growth hormones. Its principles and practices seek to achieve harmony between crop and livestock production and the agro-ecosystem.
