Jamaica’s Promise – Owl Boxes Initiative at Campion College

The Campion College Owl Boxes Initiative began approximately a year and a half ago by Campion College alum Rhys Greenland, who was also the president of the school’s environmental club, Green Generation, and the president of the Student Council. He shares that the idea originated from a firsthand experience he had on campus with an owlet that had fallen from its nest and was stuck on a low-lying limb.  Rhys, along with some friends, helped the distressed bird down from the tree, before handing it over to a team of veterinarians at the Hope Zoo. He expresses that he believes it is important to make the environment we live in more comfortable for the animals that live among us.
