The word literacy is defined as the ability to read, write, speak and listen in a way that lets us communicate effectively and make sense of the world and according to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), it empowers and liberates by expanding people’s capabilities. Recently, the Constant Spring Primary and Infant School empowered their students from all ages and grade levels at their literacy fair…. held under the theme “Unlock your Superpower: Read” School principal, Shay Dillon highlighted that the administration through its reading committee saw it fit to host this literacy fair because it was identified that many students were reading below their grade level.
