Canada was among the first countries Jamaica established diplomatic relations with after gaining Independence in 1962.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Kamina Johnson Smith, says our neighbours to the upper north is one of Jamaica’s most trusted and reliable bilateral partners.

Mrs. Johnson-Smith says the 60-year diplomatic relationship between the countries has been integral to Jamaica’s continued development as a nation.
