Jamaica is fast becoming one of the hottest destinations to visit in the world. Many visitors arrive in Jamaica by cruise each year, with over 1.8 million visiting the island that way in 2018. To build on this success, the Government has another new cruise destination in the works – Port Royal. The Port Authority of Jamaica, who is leading the development of the project, says special effort is being made to ensure Port Royal is developed to international standards, while preserving its natural environment and historical sites.
