More than 1,600 churches across the island were impacted by the passage of Hurricane Melissa. Many of the churches became a place of refuge and provision for displaced residents, even while they sustained damage and faced their own challenges. Out of the devastation came the government’s grant support programme – the Community Church Clean Up and Restoration Initiative, to help churches get back on their feet and continue serving their communities.
