Health & Wellness Ministry to Implement National Salt Reduction Programme

The Health and Wellness Ministry will be implementing a National Salt Reduction Programme as part of ongoing measures to combat non-communicable diseases NCDs. Portfolio Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says the programme aims to reduce the rate of high blood pressure or hypertension and associated cardiovascular diseases. He says a baseline study for the programme has started in partnership with the Caribbean Institute for Health Research CAIHR at the University of the West Indies UWI.

The principal of the Little Bay All Age and Infant School, Keron King, has chosen to personally deliver worksheets and lessons to students, sometimes using a motorbike he rides himself.
