The law states that children, students in uniform, physically disabled and senior citizens should pay half of the approved bus or taxi fares.
This is covered under the Road Traffic Act.
Managing Director at the Transport Authority, Ralston Smith says while many transport operators have not been adhering to this law, many passengers are unaware that it exists.
He says the Authority is working to educate and inform passengers of their rights.
