Filing for Bankruptcy

Declaring bankruptcy is a legal process that reduces, restructures or eliminates the debt owed by a person (individual or corporate). An insolvent or a debtor under Jamaican law is a person owing a minimum of 300 thousand dollars and who is unable to pay that debt or has ceased paying it. They may live, own property or have a business in Jamaica.
