Farm theft has for decades plagued the agriculture and livestock sectors.
It has robbed families, the farming community, and the country of not only revenue but stunted the growth and development of the sector.
In response, the Government has enacted laws as part of strategies to curb this illicit practice.
Several pieces of legislation govern theft in the agriculture sector which could result in different charges. These include the Agriculture Produce Act, the Larceny Act, Unlawful Possession of Property Act, Praedial Larceny Prevention Act, and the Anti-Gang Legislation.
