The Spanish Town Hospital and the St Jago Park Health Centre are reporting major enhancements in the day-to-day operations at both facilities since the implementation of the Electronic Health Records System (EHRS).
During a recent tour of both locations Health and Wellness Minister, Dr Christopher Tufton heard from doctors that there has been a 50 percent improvement in efficiency when treating patients, thanks to the new system.
Here’s a quick explanation of how the system works. When patients visit public health facilities their basic information is taken including name, address, age and so on. Next, they are assessed and their vitals taken then all that data is entered into the electronic system and a unique record is created for the patient.
