In our world, red is an attention-grabbing ‘look at me’ colour: we know this, but did you know that underwater, the SAME COLOUR reads as camouflage? Thanks to the physics of light wavelength absorption, at a certain depth, it’s invisible in the aquatic world!
Similarly, the rules of gender-based violence can be different when it’s applied online. In a bid to boost awareness, the Bureau of Gender Affairs hosted the inaugural Gender-based Violence (GBV) Advocacy Forum, held recently at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel under the theme ‘Unite to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls.’
