The Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) will host a livestock clinic at the O&W Construction site on Main Street in Clark’s Town, Trelawny, on Friday, December 5.
In an interview with JIS News, RADA Livestock Specialist, Maxine Brown, said farmers will benefit from livestock health checks.
“We will be partnering with Hi-Pro and other stakeholders who will be able to give you good advice in terms of dealing with your animals, perform some vaccinations, and will also be able to guide you on what it is that you need to do if you are not able to bring your animals ,” she said.
With the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa on farmers and livestock owners, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining has been working to reach out to the affected areas to provide support and technical expertise.
Ms. Brown said all livestock owners are invited to attend.
“You can come and explain to the veterinarians what it is that you are seeing and they’ll be able to give you some medication and guide you as to how you can better take care of your animals. So, remember, it is December 5,” she said.
