The Full Story

In light of the projected tropical storm expected to impact the island this evening, the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) is taking proactive measures to ensure the safe movement of commuters before the onset of heavy rains and potential flooding.

To support the public’s transportation needs and minimize disruptions, JUTC will be deploying all available units to provide additional coverage across our routes within the Kingston Metropolitan Transport Region (KMTR).

This deployment aims to accommodate commuters who may need to travel before adverse weather conditions escalate.

Our buses will operate as conditions permit, allowing passengers to complete their journeys safely, however, commuters are strongly encouraged to travel early, as late service cannot be guaranteed due to possible adverse weather conditions.

Our priority is to facilitate safe, timely transportation, but service availability may be affected as the storm progresses.

We urge commuters to monitor official weather updates, remain vigilant and exercise caution as they travel.

The safety and well-being of our passengers and staff remain our top priority.

We are committed to doing our part to help the public move securely and efficiently in the face of this impending storm.
