Professor of Political Sociology at the University of the West Indies, Professor Anthony Harriott, has been appointed as the third Commissioner for the Tivoli Commission of Enquiry.
Information Minister, Senator the Hon. Sandrea Falconer, told journalists at Jamaica House Media Briefing on Wednesday, May 28, that Governor-General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen, has appointed the third Commissioner.
She also informed that preparations for the Commissioners to begin their work are now underway.
Professor Harriott will join Retired Chief Justice and former Attorney General of Barbados, Sir David Simmons, Q.C.; and Retired Judge of the Court of Appeal of Jamaica, Hon. Mrs. Justice Hazel Harris, as Commissioners.
The Professor is also Director of the Institute of Criminal Justice and Security, and Head of the Department of Government at the Mona Campus, UWI.
