The Full Story

The multibillion-dollar Sun Coast Beach Club in Bull Bay, St. Thomas, is shaping up to be a “fantastic development” and is an indicator of the significant investor interest in the parish, says Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness.

Mr. Holness delivered the main address at the opening ceremony of the residential development on Tuesday (February 6), right after officially opening the Harbour View to Yallahs Bridge leg of the Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project (SCHIP).

Pointing out that the two major developments are intrinsically linked, the Prime Minister said, “The road made this 90-acre property accessible, the road added convenience, the road added efficiency and increased productivity, the road made the construction costs more manageable, and the road has unlocked the potential of all the lands on the corridor.”

“You will have a fantastic development here,” Mr. Holness said.

The Sun Coast Beach Club project involves the building of 396 residential units by development company TCF Holdings.

It will be executed over three phases with units ranging from duplexes and town houses to luxury apartments and luxury villas.

A model unit for the project has been completed and is a two-bedroom duplex spanning approximately 1,850 square feet.

TCF Holdings Chief Executive Officer and Developer of Sun Coast Beach Club, Kevin Frith, concurred that it was indeed the highway plans that sparked the decision to seek out lands in St. Thomas.

But the idea, he said, was to create something far from average and to offer resort-style living to residents.

“The concept behind Sun Coast is to build something [so] that homeowners will feel the pride of coming home and the urge of getting home because there is so much involved for their own comfort. The concept is a resort-style design. The idea is to give you something that when you get home, you don’t want to leave,” Mr. Frith said.

The development is to feature about 15,000 square feet of commercial space with a supermarket, an urgent care facility, EV charging station, among others.

Amenities of the massive property will include a jogging trail, dog park, wading pool, football field, tennis court, and basketball field.

For his part, TCF Holdings Limited Chairman, Lance Thomas, said, “What we are offering to our prospective homeowners is a living experience whereby they can enjoy coastal resort-inspired living within 12 miles of our capital city.”

“We are quite proud of our location and are happy to be perched right here in Twelve Miles, opening the gateway to the huge and largely unexplored potential of the parish of St. Thomas,” he added.
