Prime Minister, Hon Bruce Golding has written to Opposition Leader, Portia Simpson- Miller, requesting that a fixed schedule for the resumed bi-partisan meetings be established.
In a letter welcoming the Opposition Leader’s decision announced yesterday to resume the discussions, Prime Minister Golding said he is of the view that much can be achieved through bilateral collaboration undertaken in good faith. Mr. Golding said he, like the Opposition Leader, shared the view that the most appropriate framework is the established Vale Royal caucus, which was last convened in 2005.
Mr. Golding said he has delegated the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Investment, Hon Karl Samuda to liaise with the appropriate person designated by Mrs. Simpson-Miller, to agree on the date and agenda for the first meeting. He has expressed the view that the initial meeting will consider a fixed schedule for subsequent meetings.
