Press Release: Bog Walk Gorge in St. Catherine Reopened With Some Restrictions
By: , November 6, 2025The Full Story
The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising the public that the roadway from Spanish Town to Bog Walk in St. Catherine is now open to vehicular traffic. Operators of large and high vehicles must, however, use the corridor with great caution.
Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says that while the roadway has been cleared to allow passage to motorists, some impediments, in the form of impacted JPSCo poles, still remain. He says the JPSCo is aware, however, the NWA cannot say when they will be able to effect repairs to the damaged poles.
Mr. Shaw is urging all motorists to remain vigilant while using the corridor, particularly the operators of trailers or similar type vehicles. He says there is one area where the JPSCo pole is leaning towards the roadway and this will pose challenges for high vehicles.
Other roadways in St. Catherine that have recently reopened include the roadways from Vanity Fair to Tavern Hill, Bog Walk to Ewarton, Ewarton to Mount Diablo and Sligoville to Spanish Town.
