Portia Simpson-Miller to Address New York Group

Minister of Local Government, Community Development and Sport, Portia Simpson-Miller will deliver the keynote address at the 21st annual awards banquet of the Jamaica National Movement (JNM), on Saturday, June 18, at Dante’s Catering Hall in New York.
Founded in 1984, the JNM is a community based organization dedicated to mobilizing Jamaican nationals domiciled in the northeast USA to support development goals in Jamaica.
“The mission of nation building is an ongoing enterprise and it’s our duty to continue to encourage nationals abroad to be good ambassadors and to be vigilant in protecting the good name of Jamaica,” President of the JNM, Horace E. Thomas, told JIS News. He is also slated to address the function.
