The Full Story

Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, will engage members of the Jamaican diaspora from the New York tri-state area at a town hall meeting on Saturday (Sept. 21).

The event is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in the Bronx.

Prime Minister Holness will engage Jamaicans in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut on matters relating to government policy, trade relations to the wealth of investment opportunities in the island.

Accompanying the Prime Minister will be Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator the Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith and Jamaica’s Consul General in New York, Alsion Roach Wilson.

“The Government of Jamaica is committed to maintaining a strong connection with our diaspora, recognising its vital role in the continued development of our nation,” said Mrs. Roach-Wilson.

Representatives from the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) will provide information on how persons can invest in the country, and Consular team members will be on-site to navigate questions about passport, citizenship, and other essential services.

Attendees will enjoy a tapestry of entertainment that showcases the vibrancy and richness of the Jamaican culture.

Persons are advised to register in advance via the Consulate General’s official website at www.congenjamaica-ny.org.
