Prime Minister, Hon. Bruce Golding, has started to develop a framework that will guide the consultative process of public sector reform in a bid to meet the designated implementation date of April 2010.
Minister with responsibility for Information, Daryl Vaz, made the announcement to journalists, who attended the post Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House on Wednesday, October 7.
Minister Vaz said that the Prime Minister would be Chairman of the reform committee as he considered the process to be of the highest priority.
The appointment of businessman Christopher Zacca as Special Adviser, Mr. Vaz said, was a definitive move towards implementing the reform.
Minister Vaz also clarified that any rationalization activities currently being undertaken in government would be from independent activities of its agencies, departments and ministries.
