PM Says Import/Export Centre Coming in June

Prime Minister Bruce Golding has disclosed that a one stop centre to clear food and chemicals entering and leaving Jamaica, will be opened in June.
Mr. Golding was responding to questions at the meeting of the Standing Finance Committee of the House of Representatives at Gordon House today (April 14), which is reviewing the 2009/2010 Budget.
Noting that the details of the facility, to be called the Jamaica Import/ Export Centre, will be delivered by Minister of Industry, Investments and Commerce, Karl Samuda the Prime Minister said that it will streamline mechanisms for the safety standards for foodstuffs.
