PM Heads to Barbados for CARICOM Sub-Committee on CSME

Prime Minister Andrew Holness left the island this afternoon (September 4) for the Ninth Meeting of the Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee on the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) in Bridgetown Barbados.

Under his Chairmanship, at the the 39th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM, held in Jamaica in July, it was agreed that the CSME Sub-Committee would have quarterly meetings to give urgency to the implementation of the CSME.

The Sub-Committee meeting is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday, September 5) with discussions expected on issues affecting the implementation of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).

Prime Minister Holness returns to the island on Thursday.

During his absence Dr. Horace Chang, Minister of National Security will be in charge of the Government.
