Prime Minister and Minister of Sport, the Most Hon. Portia Simpson Miller has expressed sadness at the passing of sports administrator, Mr. C Lloyd Allen, describing him as a “veteran sports administrator with a passion and zeal for the development of sport, particularly tennis and boxing.”

“Jamaica has lost one of our finest and most efficient sports administrators whose contribution to the development of sport is unquestionable. C Lloyd dedicated his life to working on ways to improve the management of sport and gave distinguished and diligent service to Jamaica,” the Prime Minister said.

C. Lloyd Allen served in many capacities including that as Director of the Foundation for Sports of Jamaica, President of the Boxing Board of Control, Vice Chairman of the Commonwealth Caribbean Lawn Tennis Association, former Chairman of the Institute of Sports and former Chairman of the Jamaica Lawn Tennis Association.

The Prime Minister has expressed condolence to Mr. Allen’s immediate family, relatives, friends and the sporting fraternity which mourns his passing.
