PM Appoints New Senator

The Prime Minister the Hon. Bruce Golding, has announced the appointment of Kamina Johnson, an Attorney-at-Law and business executive, to the Senate to fill the vacancy arising from the resignation in July of Don Wehby.
Miss Johnson, a graduate of the University of the West Indies and the Norman Manley Law School, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in French, and a Master of Laws degree from the London School of Economics.
Miss Johnson is currently the Deputy Company Secretary and Assistant Vice President for Legal, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs at LIME (formerly Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited).
In commenting on the appointment, the Prime Minister said that Miss Johnson brings to the Senate a deep commitment to national affairs and a sharp perspective which, he is sure, will enhance the deliberations of the Senate.
