The Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) will take its services to the residents of Port Maria and surrounding communities in St. Mary on Saturday, July 30.

The agency’s mobile unit will be on location at the Port Maria Police Station on Main Street from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to assist first-time passport applicants as well as facilitate renewals.

Director of Passport Services, Amy Johnson, told JIS News that persons should complete the application form and take this along with two passport-size photos, one of which should be certified by a Justice of the Peace (JP), pastor, attorney-at-law or any other notable community member.

First-time applicants should also take photo identification (ID), such as a national voter ID card or driver’s licence, in addition to their birth certificate.

Payments will only be accepted by manager’s cheque made out to PICA, or by debit or credit card.

Passports prepared from applications submitted on Saturday should be collected at PICA’s head office at 25C Constant Spring Road, Kingston 10.

Ms. Johnson told JIS News that Saturday’s location for the mobile unit was selected on the basis of a need to ensure that it is in an area that “allows us to meet the customers’ needs as best as is possible”.
