Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator the Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith (left), accompanies South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Her Excellency Dr. Naledi Pandor, as she looks at busts of Jamaica’s National Heroes, at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston, shortly after her arrival in the island on Wednesday night (March 20). The official visit is in commemoration of 30 years of diplomatic relations between the countries this year. While in Jamaica, Dr. Pandor will have the opportunity to call on Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, and will co-chair with Minister Johnson Smith a hybrid CARICOM-South Africa Ministerial Meeting. The two Ministers will also engage in bilateral discussions spanning critical areas and a review of new areas for cooperation in education, healthcare innovation, technological advancement and agricultural development for both Jamaica and South Africa.
