Petrojam Honours Outstanding Employees

Sixty employees of Petrojam Limited were honoured for outstanding service over the past 40 years, at the company’s Employee Recognition Awards Ceremony on October 17, at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel, in Kingston, Plaques and citations were presented to awardees who have given dedicated service to the company for five to 40 years. An additional seven retirees were also recognised during the ceremony.
Addressing the awards ceremony, Minister of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport, Hon. Daryl Vaz, thanked the employees for their dedicated service, which has contributed to the success of the organisation.
“You are not just employees at Petrojam, you are part of the mission that has a significant impact on our country. The role of each team member contributes to shaping the industrial and economic landscape of Jamaica. The Ministry is committed to supporting Petrojam in fueling Jamaica’s petroleum supply in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Petrojam Limited, Wayne Chen, said each team member plays an important role in the development of the country.
“What we do here is important in terms of maximising our efficiency, our adaptability, our competitiveness and our adherence to best practices. We are also guardians and custodians of a clean and safe environment,” he noted.
Awards were presented in several categories – Employee of the Quarter, Innovation, Employee of the year, Long Service, and special awards to include Project of the Year (2023-2024 Financial year).
The ceremony was held under the theme ‘Honouring Legacy, Celebrating Innovation, and Pioneering Excellence’.
